Movie Review.
Part 1:
“Unbelievable!” That’s a word I can tell you after I watch “Freedom Writers”. I seemingly recognize the distance between a white people with a color people is so far in 1994. “What’s happen when the school has all the gangsters?” Freedom Writers is a good movie and bases on the real story at Los Angeles- Long Beach. And it tells about the teacher has all hopes in her job. She wants to teach her students “How do they live? And the world also needs them.
In the movie, you will meet again the famous face “HILARY SWANK” with two times received Academy Award winner. She is successful with many movies as the boxer “Million Dollar Baby” or a transgender in “Boy Don’t Cry”. And at this time, she will appear with the new job and she will be smoother. You will see her in “Freedom Writers”. And the producer will be MTV and Paramouth Picture.
The settings happen in 1994 at Los Angeles – Long Beach. These places have the large population like as American, Spanish, Latino, Asian and Mexican. And the conflicts between people with people also have a lot of problems. The reason is the color skin. After that, these are the cause’s make the kids become the gangsters.
Freedom Writers get B+ but almost nearly A. Its acting exposes almost the feelings between the color students with the new white teacher (acted by Hilary Swank). A lot of problems happen on the first day when Erin-the main character become the teacher. Her job helps the naughty students improve the Reading and Understanding skill. “Gangsters, Fighting, Shooting” are the words she can describes her students. Almost her students stay at least one more time in the jail or one member of their family, their friends die before their face. Does Erin Gruwell continue her job? Do the students focus or participate their education when they meet Erin Gruwell? The movie also tells the truth about teenagers, racism and their situations. All main characters act in the movie very well. Especially, the teacher –Hilary Swank shows a lot of her feelings like as her real live. When she is angry because the passed paper teases her male student, she impresses a lot of conditions she wants to say. She tries to make her kids think deeply about their education. Sometimes, when she is happy she makes her kids smile. She tries to create some games to helps them. Besides, in the movie, I also like Eva- the naughty girl and has the revenge with the white people. She hates her life. So she tries to forget “who is she?” I like her acting. It will makes you has more feelings about her situations. Her brother dies because someone shoots him. Her father catches to the jail with the white people. So she hates the white people. I think she is so strong and brave because if I am her, I will die for sure. Then, in the movie, you also see a lot of conversations. With the conversations, I can learn some slang languages. OK! I will show you. “Ma” this word means is respecting someone. But I like the conversation is the students and the teacher meet Miep Gies- the woman hid Anne Frank in the Holocaust. Someone in the class says, “You are my hero when I start to read this book.”
“No, no. I am not a hero. It’s my job and I think I must do that.” Miep Gies replies. After that, she says “You are the hero, and the hero of everyday!” I remember this conversation. I think the students also think they will be over of their lives if they try and complete their job. Besides, their teacher also shows them in the Holocaust, the kids meet a lot of hard things than them, but the kids hope
they will be alive. They believe everybody needs them. That’s why? It makes all students changes their mind. And they think they live for their hope and their dream. Next, I also like the music and the sound. Music is fit with the scene very well. It gives a lot of senses to make the watchers understand. I love that movie. That movie tells me the thinking of teenagers and I also recognize how all hope with the job of the teacher is? I think the movie is so cool and you try to guess How about the final part of the movie? What will she do after her kids graduate?
